Happy New Year!!

Buffy Walters, Miss January 2008

Brains, beauty, and talent…. there ain’t nothin’ the girl doesn’t have.
Born in Atlanta, GA, she was found as a pup on the streets in a dumpster at the age of 8 weeks. She was rescued in March of 1996, to spend her days traveling the USA. An excellent swimmer, she spent much of her youth in the Atlantic Ocean, Gulf of Mexico, and various mountain lakes and streams.
In her teenage years, she charmed herself, saying “I love you” into entertaining at Sloppy Joe’s or Captain Tony’s in Key West.

Buffy enjoys camping, chasing squirrels, and wrangling beautiful underwater rocks for gardens and landscapes. She currently finds herself in Montana, as a teacher, friend, and companion to her Aussie mix little brother, Dingo. Her favorite color is black; and food, Purina.
She also likes egg and bacon bites.

With a twinkle in her eye and bright smile, she graciously accepts this lifetime award; and is honored to be Skyline Veterinary’s Miss January Pet of the Month.

Thanks Walter Family! Happy New Year from all of us at Skyline Vetrinary Clinic!

February Sweetheart Prissy Stoos

My little girl was born January 23, 2000. She obtained her name Prissy because when I brought her home, she immediately thought that it was hers, and now of course, it is hers and she pretty much owns it!
She knows how to break dance, roll over, sit up, and above all beg. Imagine that! Any type of attitude a person wants her to perform, she can, and she has them all.
She loves to dress up and have her nails polished. Make no mistake, this little girl is the best thing that ever happened to me, and I love her dearly, even though she is a little rascal!

Smokiee

Smokiee was foaled on July 27, 1992. He has some pretty famous ancestors and bloodlines, well known in the Arabian horse industry. Raffles and Sotep bloodlines were from his mother, Soltez.
They seem to have passed down their gentle and loving Arabian personalities. Smokiee is a very gentle and calm stallion and is a pet!
After a scary operation and an equally scary repair to his incisions, there was a month long recuperation at Skyline. He has bounced back to being his playful self! He plays ball in his pen by throwing it in the air and then running to the other end of his pen and back again. Then he picks it up, and starts all over again!
He also amuses himself by picking up his feed dish and banging it on the metal siding of the barn…..very noisily I might add!
Thank you everyone at the Skyline Veterinary Clinic; who took such good care and special attention of Smokiee during his surgeries and recuperation. A special thanks to Dr. Smith and Dr. Ward for the very extensive and dangerous surgery on our very special horse.

Lady

Belt Creek’s First Lady

“Lady” was born on November 15, 1996, a prodigy of the famous “Diamond R” Labradors, of Bozeman, Mt. Her first home after leaving mom, was on a small farm in Highwood, Mt., where she thought she was queen of the land, and as happy as a lark.
In October, 1998, she had her own first litter of pups (one of whom she is currently living with), and in 1999 she had a 2nd litter. She was a wonderful mom and took great care of her babies.
One small problem, living on the farm, came in the form of another lab-mix dog, which resulted in a couple very violent fights. Each dog wanted to be the center of attention when feeding the other animals. This is how Lady came to be at her current home. In 2000, she came to live in the city of Great Falls. She joined one of her first puppies, “Shadies Lady” (a black lab), and a bulldog puppy, “Sadie”. They love each other and get along great.
After having these wonderful dogs for almost 10 years, I prefer to call them Lovredors, instead of Labradors! They are the sweetest, most lovable dogs a person could ever ask for (with the exception of bulldogs-they too are very lovable!)
In December 2007, at the ripe old age of 11, Lady came to Dr. Seekins, to see if he could help her with a very bad knee joint. He did, and what an awesome job he did at fixing her up! She is at almost 100% again.
Thank you, Dr. Seekins, and the entire staff at Skyline!!!!!

Brownie

Hi! My name is Brownie. I am a Calico Dwarf Cross Bunny who is the ripe ol’ age of 13! Yep, that’s 13 years old. My mommy and daddy take very good care of me! Dr. Smith has been my veterinarian for about that long too! I am a happy bunny, and recently underwent major surgery to remove some yucky tumors and am still going! My mommy calls me the “Energizer Bunny” for a “pet name”. I love to eat and lay around under my favorite recliner chair.
I am littler box trained and just lounge around all day. My daddy gives me treats and my mommy hugs on me all the time! I just love the attention! I am very honored to the Pet of the Month and love the wonderful care I get here at Skyline Clinic. Thank you! I recently found out the Guinness Book of World Records has the oldest living bunny to have been 16 years. Surely I MUST be the 2nd place???

Muffin

My name is Muffin Atkinson and I will be four on Nov. 16th. I’m a papered long haired “Buff” Chihuahua, but my mom says I’m a throwback ‘cause I’m so tall. I live with my sister, Libby (she’s a Border Collie X) and Mom.

We love to cuddle, walk in the park and have company stop by. We like fall and spring best, when we get to go for more rides and even to meetings with Mom. Libby always hogs the front seat.
We use to go to the bank every Friday and to the Dairy Queen on Sunday afternoon, but now we’re on ‘striction cause Mom told us the Dr. says we’re too fat.

Now we just get to go there once a month. Our favorite treat is sharing an apple or black grapes with Mom while watching TV.

We do have play dates with Tippy ( a six month old Chihuahua) on Saturday afternoons, but he’s a little baby and spoiled. Mom says her four legged kids are the best girls ever, and she knows ‘cause she is our very grateful MOM.

Thanks! From all of us at Skyline Veterinary Clinic!

Comet

Comet is a 9 year old Yellow Lab Mix who still acts like he’s a 2 year old. I brought him home 8 years ago from Eastern Wyoming College. He was a resident at the school as were many other dogs and cats and was used to help teach the veterinary Technician students many things including: blood draws, dental prophylaxis, bandaging techniques and much more. All of the animals at the school were adopted from the local animal shelter. The shelter had a limited adoption time, so the school took animals whose time at the shelter was up, but who still had good adoption potential. Many of the animals from the school were adopted by students. Comet came home with two cats and a rat!
Comet loves to run and play, swim, give hugs and kisses, and above all to be with his family. He’s the tallest member of his canine family (he lives with a herd of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels). He helps his fellow canines when he can be donating blood. He’s just got the sweetest disposition with everyone. Comet hasn’t met anyone (2 legged or 4 legged) that he doesn’t love.

Missy

Missy was born into our family on July 11, 2005. She was sired by our Champion male “Cody”. Missy has a fantastic, easy going personality and is great around kids. Her nickname is Brat! She, at times, enjoys being a lap dog, but normally relishes all types of play and fun. She most always has a toy in her mouth. Her play normally includes running, jumping and wrestling with our other Boxers. She often amuses us with her racing “slicks” (her ears rolled back), sleeping antics and, of course, the various trouble arena she gets in (including her bee face). Given the opportunity, she easily makes friends with anyone she meets. To our dismay her friend making also includes, as shown in the photos, our cats and occasional bees out in our dog run. Dr Seekins noted, after seeing the pictures that “she’s really a cute dog when she stays away from the bees”.

BETSY

Is an American, Canadian, Mexican, World, International Champion and Champion of the Americas. Her registered name is Hi-Society Jungle Smart.
Betsy was delivered by Dr. Smith at Skyline Veterinary Clinic on May 8, 2005. She weighed 210 grams and was the third of five puppies delivered. She was our pick puppy from the start.

Betsy finished 2007 as the number eight Boston Terrier in the United States. She accomplished all of her Championship titles in 6 months of showing. She loves to show and is always hoping that she gets to go when you head out the door. Betsy has fans around the world and has had articles written about her in Australia, Canada and the U.S. We are hoping to also add an obedience, agility or rally title next year.

When not traveling to dog shows, Betsy loves to lay in the sunshine on the back of the sofa and chase birds out of the yard. She has retired from showing but still loves to go to the dog shows to see everyone.

Betsy is owned by:
Sam Chrisman and Cindy Davis of Hi-Society Boston Terriers.

Rascal

Our little October Pet of the Month is a powerhouse horse in a small package. “Rascal” is a 3 year old miniature stallion from Delta Junction Alaska, who is owned by Debra Darland. Rascal was bred by MCA Miniatures of Rosedale, Indiana. He is gentle, but feisty, and loved very much by his family. He is shown in showmanship classes, cart classes, and will standing at stud in Fairbanks Alaska.

Good Luck Rascal!

Polar McGillis

Our November Pet of the Month is truly a “Polar Express”! It is Polar McGillis, born in November of 2007. Polar is one of 5 ferrets, who live with Sherrie. Polar is the baby, but the largest of all. His other house mates are: Stitch, Ruby, Baby Girl, and Fat Boy.
His favorite sport is pulling socks off your feet, and then packing them under the sofa.

Thanks Polar!

Pepper

Merry Christmas To All!
Our December Pet of the Month, is a wonderful holiday spice called “Pepper” Mills, who lives with Joyce and Sherm. Since Dr. Seekins has advised Pepper to shed a few pounds, when not hiking all summer at the cabin on Falls Creek, Pepper can be found “spinning”around for Joyce and Sherm, before a treat is given.
Good Dog Pepper!

Thanks Pepper, Joyce, and Sherm! Merry Christmas!
